7/24/2013 – SOUTHWEST ASIA — The new Combined Force Air Component Commander visited with Airmen at various units across the wing here July 23 as they showcased to the general what they do to support the joint war fighter downrange.
Lt. Gen. John W. Hesterman III, the CFACC and U.S. Air Forces Central Command commander, toured the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing visiting with Airmen from the Emergency Communications Center, the 71st Expeditionary Air Control Squadron, the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron Centralized Repair Facility and Silent Sentry with windshield tour elements along the way.
The general is responsible for developing contingency plans and conducting air operations in a 20-nation area of responsibility covering Central and Southwest Asia.
