A Heart of Gratitude

Friday, Dec. 27, 2024

Bible Verse:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His mercy endures forever.”

– Psalm 136:1 (EHV)

Devotion:

What’s something you’re really thankful for today? Maybe it’s the presents you opened, the time you spent with family, or even a warm blanket on a cold morning. Psalm 136 reminds us to thank God for everything, because He is good and His mercy never ends!

Sometimes it’s easy to forget to say “thank you,” especially when we’re busy or excited. But gratitude is like a little seed that grows into joy. When we take time to thank God for His blessings, we remember just how much He loves us. So let’s make today a day of gratitude, starting with a big “thank you” to God!

Questions:

  1. Why should we give thanks to God?

  2. What are some things you’re thankful for right now?

  3. How can you show gratitude to God and others?

Prayer:

Dear God, thank You for all the blessings You’ve given us. Help us to have hearts full of gratitude and to share our thankfulness with others. Amen.

Activity Idea:

Create a “gratitude jar.” Write down things you’re thankful for on slips of paper and add them to the jar. At the end of the week, read them together as a family.
