A Light for the Nations
Friday, Dec. 20, 2024
Bible Verse:
“I will make you a light for the nations, to bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”
– Isaiah 49:6 (EHV)
Devotion:
Have you ever been in charge of holding a flashlight during a camping trip or power outage? It’s a big job! Without the light, it’s hard for everyone to see where they’re going. In this verse, God tells His people that they’re like a flashlight for the world. He chose them to show others His love and lead them to salvation through Jesus.
Today, God still calls us to be lights in a world that can feel pretty dark. When we share kindness, love, and hope, we’re pointing others to Jesus, the brightest light of all. So this Advent, let’s remember to shine God’s love everywhere we go!
Questions:
What does it mean to be a “light for the nations”?
How can we shine God’s love in our daily lives?
Who can you share God’s light with this week?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for making us lights in this world. Help us to shine Your love brightly and bring others closer to You. Amen.
Activity Idea:
Make a “light map.” Draw your house or town and write ways you can be a light to people around you, like helping a neighbor or showing kindness to a classmate.
