A New Beginning

Bible Verse:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. The new has come!”
– 2 Corinthians 5:17 (EHV)
Devotion:
Happy New Year! A new year is like a blank piece of paper, ready for all the exciting adventures, challenges, and blessings God has in store for us. But did you know that Jesus gives us the best new beginning of all? When we believe in Him, we become new creations.
This doesn’t mean we suddenly grow extra arms or learn to fly (though that would be cool). It means Jesus forgives our sins and gives us a fresh start every day. So as we start this new year, let’s thank God for His love and look forward to how we can grow as His children in the months ahead.
Questions:
What does it mean to be a “new creation” in Jesus?
Why is Jesus’ forgiveness like a fresh start?
How can you grow closer to God this year?
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You for making us new creations through Your love and forgiveness. Help us to grow closer to You this year and to live as Your children. Amen.
Activity Idea:
Write down one goal you have for your relationship with God this year, like praying more, reading the Bible, or helping others. Decorate it and keep it somewhere special.
